Abstract

Education is one of the most important professions in our society, instilling knowledge of our past and securing our future. As educational leaders leave the profession, there is a growing demand for qualified educational leaders to fill the vacancies created. The quantitative research study aimed to determine if a correlation existed between participation in youth team activities and educational leadership development and placement. Educational leaders across South Carolina participated in the study reflecting on their experiences in youth with team activities. The study results found no correlation to the research questions but provided insights into leadership development, suggesting participation in numerous activities to obtain leadership skills. The study found trends in the experiences of educational leaders meriting further research and study. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
