Abstract

This study investigated the influence of previous education and professional experience on psychology graduate students' mental well-being. An online survey collected information regarding student demographic information, depression symptoms (PHQ-9), anxiety symptoms (GAD-7), resiliency (BRCS), and an attitude survey about seeking mental health treatment (MHSAS) and analyzed group differences based on previous level of education (pLOE) and previous level of work experience (pWE). Results revealed that a higher frequency of graduate students who possessed a bachelor's degree and a lower frequency of graduate students who possessed a master's degree were classified as having low resilient coping skills. This study updated mental health symptomatology prevalence rates within the psychology graduate student community.
