Abstract
- The purpose of this quantitative study was to illuminate teacher burnout, its causes and effects, and determine if there was a relationship between teacher burnout and spirituality practices as well as a relationship between burnout and educator career level, hoping to recommend ways to decrease those effects in the workplace. The Maslach Burnout Toolkit for Educators combined the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey with the Areas of Worklife Survey to quantify what in the worklife experience might be causing burnout symptoms. The FACIT-SP Non-Illness survey quantified a person's spiritual well-being by evaluating three dimensions: meaning, peace, and faith (Cella, 2010). Of the tested hypotheses, both exhibited some statistical significance. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
