Abstract

This pamphlet provides a general description of the Dependents' Educational Assistance program, or DEA (chapter 35 of title 38, U. S. Code). The DEA program provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents and survivors of certain veterans. It covers the main questions prospective participants may have about DEA benefits, including eligibility rules, types of training available under DEA, how the program works, payment rates, how to apply, how participants receive payments, what participants need to know during their training, and where they can go for more help.
