Abstract
- Introduction to Application Development was completely reworked. Less emphasis was placed on programming and more emphasis on developing and communicating user requirements. Many items used in training industry were incorporated into the CPT 180 course. The paper will detail the change in focus in this course and overall how our curriculum is being transformed. In this paper the author will take a look at offshore outsourcing and the effect it has on curriculum in higher education. He will review offshore outsourcing's history and trends that will play a role in shaping school curriculum in years to come. Specifically, he will look at a CPT 180 Introduction to System Development course and review the changes made in the last year. He will also discuss how they reflect the skill set that will be needed in the IT world in the years ahead. He will also take a look at the curriculum as a whole and how it may change in the future.
