Abstract
- The Senate's Environmental and Public Works Committee conducted a hearing in October 2002 to assess green school initiatives: environmental standards for schools, school siting in relation to toxic waste sites, and "green" building codes. The committee reviewed activities undertaken by the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Office of Children's Environmental Health and the Office of Indoor Air Quality, as well as those taken by the Department of Energy concerning environmental and energy issues relevant to school properties.
