Abstract
- This practical guide for K-12 teachers, librarians, and computer/media specialists presents online projects, Web sites, search engines, information resources, research tips, and "virtual" field trips--educator-reviewed and with coverage for all subjects and grade levels. The first chapter, "Cyberspace Research--Working the Web," includes information on the Big6 and WebQuest approaches and citing electronic resources, and provides "WWW CyberGuides," or rating guide forms. The second chapter, "Internet Resources," describes sites for Internet resources in each of the following categories: general, art, clip art, economics, encyclopedia, foreign language, health and nutrition, keypals, language arts, math, music, physical education, science, social studies, and study and research. The third chapter, "Internet Project Ideas and Activities," presents suggestions for Internet projects and activities for language arts, math, science, and social studies, as well as other general activities. The fourth chapter is "Copyright and Property Rights" and the fifth chapter is "Acceptable Use and Student Safety." Four appendices are also provided: "Getting Connected,""Accessing Information,""Electronic Publishing," and "Glossary." Includes indexes for subjects and Web sites. (AEF)
