Lifelong Learning: Making It Work. An Adult Learning Australia Discussion Paper.

This discussion paper is from the Adult Learners Week National Seminar on Lifelong Learning Policy (Canberra, Australia, September 1999) that identified a number of ideas about how to foster national policy development on lifelong learning. It consists of three sections. Part 1 contains "A National Lifelong Learning Policy for Australia?" (Tony Brown), an introduction to lifelong learning policy with a list of questions to focus future discussion; two discussion starters, "Is Lifelong Learning Critical, Desirable, or Just a Good Idea?" (Philip C. Candy) and "A Vision for the Future of Australian Education and Training" (Moira Scollay), each with a list of questions to focus future discussions; and "Discussion and Recommendations of the Seminar Working Groups."
