Seven papers address future directions that the member libraries of the Technical and Further Education (TAFE) National Section of the Australian Library and Information Association can pursue to respond to a changing environment characterized by declining public funds; the need to fulfill some of the major requirements of the government's economic strategies; the current industrial agenda; and the move towards involving TAFE in direct industry training. Appendices contain the conference program, a list of participants, a conference evaluation questionnaire with a tally of the final results, a report on a guidelines workshop, and a case study exercise for developing a learning resource center at a fictional large, multi-purpose college that is facing funding cuts.
