Abstract

Developed as part of a document series that focuses on science and technology teaching, this volume was produced under the auspices of the Commission for Biological Education of the International Union of Biological Sciences (CBE-IUBS). It serves to provide biology teachers and others concerned with secondary biology curriculum development with current reviews of biological topics and with suggestions and resources for incorporating the topics into courses. Contents addressed include: (1) the origin of the human individual (prenatal); (2) human development after birth; (3) variation, evolution and growth in human population; (4) a curriculum map; (5) suggestions for practical activities; and (6) an annotated list of resources.
