Abstract

Designed to direct the teacher to a variety of teaching and learning resources relating to the man-made environment, this document provides annotated lists of resources in several sections. The section on student reading resources lists literature written for the student and relates to various aspects of the built environment: social, technical, and historic. The section on student picture books lists documents intended for technical use or use by advanced students. A section provides teacher reading resources for use in learning more about the built environment. The section on activity and lesson planning resources provides a list of sources for classroom activities. A section on other print resources suggests local resources such as governmental agencies which may provide materials relating to the built environment. A section provides sources of educational games and kits for classroom activities on city and regional planning. Filmstrips on the built environment and the community are provided in another section. A final section lists films on a wide variety of subjects relating to man-made structures. (RE)
