A Bibliography on Rural Development in Tanzania. MSU Rural Development Paper No. 3.

Rural development is understood to mean both the increased productivity of agriculture and other rural economic activities and the enhancement of the material well-being of the rural people (who comprise about 90% of Tanzania's 16 million population) through education, improved health, and better nutrition. Seven hundred and sixty-one books, articles, research papers, and theses published in English by scholars of many nationalities between 1963 and 1968 are listed in this bibliography for teachers, researchers, policy-makers, donor agencies, and rural development practitioners.
