Abstract

The tri-dimensional mandate of the land-grant institution--to teach, to research, and to serve--finds a common meeting place at the New Mexico State University. The New Mexico State University has tri-cultural concerns arising from the special needs of the population that it serves. The age-old problem of water in an arid land, the new challenge of the exploration of space, "border" Spanish, tourism, homemaking, and the uses of the ranges and forests are all subjects of concern.
