This manual was designed for use with the fourth of five texts in the Secondary School Advanced Mathematics (SSAM) series. Developed for students who have completed the Secondary School Mathematics (SSM) program and wish to continue their studies in mathematics, this series is designed to review, strengthen, and fill gaps in the material covered in SSM. The topics covered in the fourth text are the complex numbers and the relationships between equations and lines, parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas (with vertical and horizontal axes or asymptotes). This manual contains a fuller discussion of the mathematics included in the text, lists of objectives, suggested time schedules, and detailed solutions of the text problems. (SD)
