Abstract

Community education is an all inclusive phenomenon functioning in the community to help people of all ages, races, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds to fulfill their learning needs and to aid in the development and improvement of the entire community. The community school can be the leading agent in the implementation of community education. In this book, the innovator of the community school program in Flint, Michigan describes the experiences of participants in that program. Some of the topics discussed include the impact of the program on the solution of social problems, its effects on the prevention and control of crime and delinquency, and individual cases of growth and development.
