Cable Television and the University; Proceedings of the Conference (Dallas, Texas, January 29-31, 1974).

A collection of papers is presented which focuses primarily on presently available technology of multi-channel one-way cable television which presents major new opportunities for education and to a lesser extent on the more advanced two-way cable which will assume increasing importance in educational applications in the years ahead. The 30 articles are divided into six parts: (1) the present status of cable communication in relation to higher education; (2) the market for cable-based higher education; (3) software for higher education programing; (4) the university and the municipal cable system; (5) institutional organization and administration; and (6) the university and the knowledge industry.
