Extending Guidance and Counseling Services for the Mentally Handicapped.

This paper contains reports prepared by counselors and teachers of the mentally retarded. The thesis of this paper is that the opportunity for the handicapped student to lead a productive life can only be accomplished through proper education, guidance, and counseling. Included are reports on the following: elementary counseling of educable mentally retarded children; the team approach for teaching the mentally retarded; a cooperative senior high school special education program; vocational guidance for the mentally handicapped; and general articles on counseling the mentally retarded.
