Decision Making in Curriculum & Instruction. An IDEA Monograph.

Abstract
- This monograph aims at assuring greater rationality in decisionmaking processes involving boards of education, school superintendents, principals, and teachers. The discussion begins with an analysis of the present confusion regarding who makes curriculum and instruction decisions. A theoretical framework, consistent with some of the established theories concerning formal organizations, curriculum, and decisionmaking, is then proposed to form a model that can be challenged, examined, and modified. This conceptual scheme guides the practical business of making curricular decisions in school systems, schools, and classrooms. (Author/MLF)
