Abstract

CO2 capture technologies must be developed to reduce Green House Gas emissions in order to fulfill the Paris Agreement. Adsorption is considered one of the available technologies due to the mild conditions used in the process. Selective sorbents with high CO2 adsorption capacities are needed. In this work, several types of branched polyethylenimines (PEI), with different average molecular weight, are used agglomerated with silica at different amounts by weight. The adsorption has been measured and the kinetic parameters are estimated from breakthrough experiments in a fixed bed. The results showed that the materials produced were selective to CO2 and can be used in adsorption processes, the sample lowest average molecular weight had the higher adsorption capacity.
Depto. de Ingeniería Química y de Materiales
Fac. de Ciencias Químicas
TRUE
pub
APC financiada por la UCM
