Abstract
- This audio recording transcript of WTLC's news radio show Like It Is details a discussion on the future for Black elected officials, the end of the General Assembly session and passage of bills addressing utilities and contracts for minority businesses, proposed changes to graduation requirements for high school students, an interview with a Black diver, allegations of insufficient qualifications against a City-County Council candidate, statements by police officers on regulation 30.0 governing use of deadly force, advocates for fair housing, and the announcement of a new emergency call system by Indiana Bell. It should be noted that following the episode is a special program highlighting award-winning stories from 1982 including coverage of the National Sports Festival, the retirement of Pacers star George McGinnis, the clay court tennis championships, police use of deadly force, the shooting of former National Urban League president Vernon Jordan, the bridge collapse in East Chicago, interviews with the unemployed at Christmas, and a spotlight on the French Lick railroad.
