Omsorgsfullt begravda eller hastigt deponerade? : Osteologisk analys av järnålders individer begravda i fornborgen Styrmansberget vid Vallhagar på Gotland

Denna uppsats hade som mål att redogöra för skillnader och likheter mellan gravarna i fornborgen på Styrmansberget vid Vallhagar, Fröjel, Gotland. Totalt har 15 gravar, från romersk järnålder, upptäckts och grävts ut vid fornborgen. 8 gravar var typiska för romerska järnåldern med en grav markerad med någon form av stenkonstruktion. Resterande 7 är mer ovanliga då dessa inte var markerade ovan jord och låg i fornborgens mur samt i resterna av ett hus. För detta arbete undersöktes 8 gravar där 4 var markerade ovan jord och 4 var omarkerade. Likheter och skillnader mellan dessa gravar diskuteras med förhoppningen om att spåra livet och döden vid Styrmansberget. Uppsatsen jämför gravarna både osteologiskt och arkeologiskt genom kvarlevorna och gravgåvorna som funnits.
The aim of this essay was to describe the differences and similarities between the graves in the hill fort on Styrmansberget close to Vallhagar, Fröjel, Gotland. A total of 15 graves, from the Roman Iron Age, were discovered and excavated at the hill fort. Among these are 8 graves of the typical style of the roman iron age with a marked grave with a stone structure above. The remaining 7 are more unusual as these were not marked above ground. They were located in the wall of the fort and in the remains of an ancient house. A total of 8 graves were examined where 4 were marked and 4 were unmarked above ground. The similarities and the differences between the graves are discussed to try to track the life of the living. Both osteological and through the grave gifts that where I the graves is discussed in this essay.
