Debt collector in the world of debt collection is not something new, although it is not known exactly when this profession started. Debt collectors or debt collectors are usually used by a private financing institution in collecting credit from debtors or customers, especially on bad credit, because it is considered effective in billing using debt collector services to collect their bad credit compared to efforts to use official and formal methods, namely through the judiciary. The actions of debt collectors who forcibly take the vehicle can be subject to the provisions of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of the Criminal Code regarding theft or if it is carried out with violence or threats of violence then it can be charged with Article 365 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code which includes including legal (criminal) sanctions. Based on this phenomenon, this study aims to examine and analyze the Countermeasures of the Crime of Confiscation of Motorized Vehicles by Debt Collectors in the Legal Area of the Pekanbaru Police and to find out the Obstacles to Overcoming Crime of Confiscation of Motor Vehicles by Debt Collectors in the Legal Area of the Pekanbaru Police. This research is included in the normative juridical and empirical juridical research groups. The normative juridical approach is legal research that places law as a building system of norms. Empirical juridical research is research that has an object of study regarding the Prevention of Motorized Vehicle Confiscation Crimes by Debt Collectors in the Legal Area of the Pekanbaru Police. The results of the study: First, the efforts made by the National Police in tackling the confiscation of motorized vehicles by debt collectors include through pre-emptive efforts, preventive efforts and through repressive efforts.
