The two component reactivity is carried out in MeOH to generate (Z)-¿-(arylseleno)-¿,¿-unsaturated ketones and (Z)-¿-(arylsulfuro)-¿,¿-unsaturated ketones with a consensus between experimental and theoretical understanding of the mechanism
