Publication Year :
2024

Abstract

The Utah State Charter School Board is pleased to announce the authorization and approval of two new public charter schools set to open in the fall of 2025. This authorization reflects a commitment to enhancing public education opportunities for students throughout the State of Utah. The new public charter schools include ThrivePoint Academy of Utah and Virtual Horizons Charter School. ThrivePoint Academy of Utah will be an alternative high school hybrid model operating an in-person location in southwest Salt Lake County and providing an online option to students statewide. Virtual Horizons Charter School will be a virtual reality model open to students throughout the state; this means the school is going to use virtual reality to teach students and it would be one of the first to do so in the nation.
