Abstract
- The present article shows the development of a study that analyzed the possibilities of academic WhatsApp groups as alternative communication systems for virtual tutoring in the university environment. Through a descriptive study with 317 students from three different degrees, the results obtained indicate that the implementation of academic WhatsApp groups would make a helpful tool for improving the communication with their classmates and the virtual tutoring with their teachers, increasing their level of written expression and participation
