On the performance of the unscented Kalman filter for floating Doppler wind lidar motion correction in an open-sea scenario

Abstract
- This work analyzes the influence of open-sea wave motion on the performance of the floating Doppler wind lidar motion-compensation method [1], recently published by the authors. The method is applied to a floating ZephIR 300 LiDAR and compared to a fixed LiDAR as a reference. The motion-correction results are studied as a function of the wave-motion intensity by clustering the IJmuiden experimental campaign into three categories: low, medium, and high motion.<br />This research is part of the project PID2021-126436OB-C21 funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Investigacion (MCIN)/ Agencia Estatal de Investigacion (AEI)/ 10.13039/501100011033 y FEDER “Una manera de hacer Europa”.
