Reimaginar o passado para reconfigurar o presente / Reimagine the past to reconfigure the present

Resumo: Tomando como ponto de partida a noção de realismo capitalista cunhada por Mark Fisher, este trabalho elabora uma leitura de “Los estigmas del cuerpo”, ensaio publicado pela escritora chilena Diamela Eltit quando da comemoração dos 25 anos do golpe de Estado chileno. O artigo está estruturado em três partes: na primeira, apresentamos o conceito de realismo capitalista, bem como a crise de imaginação que ele expressa; na segunda, com o objetivo de demonstrar como o realismo capitalista se apresenta no contexto chileno, recuperamos o conhecido discurso de Patrício Aylwin proferido em 1991 por ocasião da reabertura do Congresso Nacional; e, finalmente, na terceira parte, apresentamos uma leitura do ensaio de Eltit com o intuito de, por um lado, demonstrar o modo como a autora recompõe o vínculo que o realismo capitalista – expressão ideológica do neoliberalismo – estabelece com a operacionalização do esquecimento; e, por outro, de que maneira ela elabora seu enfrentamento.Palavras-chave: neoliberalismo; ditadura chilena; realismo capitalista; memória; Diamela Eltit.Abstract: Taking as a starting point the notion of capitalist realism coined by Mark Fisher, this paper elaborates a reading of “Los estigmas del cuerpo”, an essay published by the Chilean writer Diamela Eltit on the 25th anniversary of the Chilean coup d’état. The article is structured in three parts: firstly, we present the concept of capitalist realism, as well as the crisis of imagination it expresses; in the second part, with the aim of demonstrating how capitalist realism presents itself in the Chilean context, we recover the well-known speech given by Patricio Aylwin in 1991, on the occasion of the reopening of the National Congress; and finally, in the third part, we present a reading of Eltit’s essay with the intention of, on the one hand, demonstrating the way in which the author re-establishes the link that capitalist realism – the ideological expression of neoliberalism – establishes with
