Abstract

This report provides results from the Transparent Reporting Project, which examined how seven agencies in the federal statistical system assess the quality of integrated data used in one of the agency’s statistical products and how they report data quality to users of the product. The project was designed to serve the information needs of the project’s participating agencies, the members of the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy (ICSP), and agencies throughout the federal statistical system. In this report, the terms “statistical agency” or “federal statistical agency” can refer to any agency or unit in the federal statistical system, not necessarily one of the 13 principal statistical agencies.
