Dopo la guerra civile. Atene nel 403 a.C.

Il contributo prende in esame le diverse forme di reazione alla guerra civile messe in atto ad Atene nel 403: il superamento emotivo e politico della stasis, la rinuncia alla vendetta e l’amnistia (con le comprensibili resistenze), la ricostituzione della comunità sulla base di valori comuni, la riappropriazione di parole chiave della propaganda politica contemporanea (come homonia e soteria) in chiave democratica. Il successo di queste strategie è documentato dall’apprezzamento delle fonti non democratiche.
The contribution examines the different forms of reaction to the civil war implemented in Athens in 403: the emotional and political overcoming of stasis, the renunciation of vengeance and amnesty (with understandable resistance), the reconstitution of the community on the basis of common values, and the re-appropriation of keywords of contemporary political propaganda (such as homonia and soteria) in a democratic key. The success of these strategies is documented by the appreciation of non-democratic sources.
