Abstract
- Background: in CrossFit, 80% of people have injuries in the lower limbs, caused by alterations in the foot and ankle. Currently, the prevalence of plantar footprint pathologies is increasing. Objective: to determine the alterations of the plantar footprint and the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, through a photopedometer in CrossFit athletes. Methodology: a quantitative, observational, descriptive and transversal study was carried out in CrossFit Pulse athletes. The footprint (FP) was assessed through a photopedometer; while demographic data were collected using a form. The balance was evaluated with the Y Balance Test (YBT) and the software Move2perform established the level of injury risk (IR). The statistics of central tendency, measures of dispersion, absolute frequency, percentage, Spearman's rho for correlation, were analyzed in SPSS V25; Microsoft Excel 2016 was used for the preparation of tables and graphs. Results: 60 athletes were evaluated, of which 82% presented cavus foot. There was no of a statistically significant relationship between FP and sex, age and BMI. The interaction between IR and FP did not show statistical significance, there is only a very low positive correlation between left and right foot. Conclution: the results of the YBT showed that 63.3% were at moderate risk and 26.7% were at substantial risk. These two categories are part of the high probability of injury due to a cavo foot.
