Abstract

application/pdf
Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) is often characterized by the inabilityto distinguish color due to a defective or missing cone in the eye.Although it is possible to modify the observed color to make iteasier for users to distinguish, this can lead to color confusion withunaffected colors. To address this problem we investigate how flickercan assist distinguishing colors for CVD patients. In preliminarystudy, we evaluated the efficiency of color and brightness modulationwith 4 participants with normal vision. Our findings suggests thatwhile brightness modulation was ineffective, color modulation canhelp users distinguish between different colors
conference paper
