Las perspectivas del capital social, parte II

This article presents a theoretical discussion of the most accepted forms of social capital in the literature: bonding, bridging, and linking. It studies the relationship between the forms of social capital and Granovetter's strength of weak ties thesis, the principle of homo-heterophilia and Lin's status attainment theory. In addition, an extension of the theoretical model of the forms of social capital is proposed. Considering the relationship between the strength of the tie and the position that the individual occupies in the social structure results in considering not only the hierarchical weak ties (linking), but also the hierarchical strong ties (or hierarchical bonding).
Este artículo ofrece una discusión teórica de las formas de capital social más aceptadas en la literatura: bonding, bridging y linking. Estudia la relación de las formas de capital social con la tesis de la fuerza del lazo (Granovetter’s s trength of weak ties thesis), con el principio de homo-heterofilia y con la teoría de la consecución del estatus de Lin (Lin’s status attainment theory). Además, se propone una ampliación del modelo teórico de las formas de capital social. Relacionar la fuerza del lazo con la posición que ocupa el individuo en la estructura social tiene como resultado considerar no solo los lazos débiles jerárquicos (linking), sino también los lazos fuertes jerárquicos (o bonding jerárquico).
