Abstract

The article aims to analyze which are the perspectives elected by didactic literature to structure the narrative of the Brazilian colonial period. Through the concepts of Representation by Roger Chartier (1990), discourse by Mikhail Bakhtin (2006) and Content Analysis by Lawrence Bardin (2011) we analyze ten didactic collections, approved by PNLD, dated between 1997 and 2015. It was found that in the mix of narratives that constitute the didactic literature about the colonial period, the theory of economic cycles still predominates, where the bandeirante occupies a crucial role.
