- Letters written to James Backhouse Walker by Henry Ling Roth, from Halifax, UK during the years 1891-1988 regarding scientific and historical matters.Henry Ling Roth (3 February 1855 – 12 May 1925) was an anthropologist and museum curator. He wrote on Tasmanian aborigines and the natives of Sarawak and North Borneo. In 1890 he published the book The Aborigines of Tasmania. Letters include discussion of the skeletal remains of King Billy, Fanny Cochrane Smith, testing of hair samples and the measurement of aboriginal skulls. W9/C1/9
