Abstract
- Background: The Coronavirus outbreak has caused great health problems to the population worldwide, in which the nursing staff together with the medical team had to intervene, adapt to the situation and continue with the hard work of caring, restoring health and preserve the lives of infected people, thus facing complex and stressful events, which negatively influence health and quality of life, on the other hand affecting work performance, in the same way in the quality of care towards the patients. Objective: To determine the prevalence of stress and anxiety in the nursing staff of the José Carrasco Arteaga Specialty Hospital during the Covid pandemic, Cuenca 2022. Methodology: The study is of a descriptive cross-sectional type with a quantitative approach, made up of 200 nurses to whom a survey was applied together with the NSS and HARS scales. The data obtained were represented by tabulation in Excel and the representation of tables, frequencies for analysis in the SPSS25 program. Results: The study was made up mostly of females, 79% with an age of 27 to 37 years, 45.5%, 49.5% are married, 36.5% working the night shift and providing services in the hospital between 3 to 4 years. Conclusions: A prevalence of medium stress and mild anxiety is determined in the surveyed population, this indicates that these people handle an intermediate domain of stress and anxiety in their work area.
