Neuropsychiatric aspects of movement disorders

Changes in movement and posture often coexist with changes in mood, cognition, and arousal in a range of brain disorders. A holistic neuropsychiatric view is needed to diagnose, manage, and research these conditions in order to discover causes and effective treatments and to design appropriate management strategies. Limitations related to the dualistic nature of the language used in this area need to be addressed in order to improve science and care.
