Abstract

The Utah Job Outlook presents the official State of Utah projections of industry and occupational employment. It discusses the Utah employment outlook from 1994 to the year 2000 by industry, occupation, and geographic area. Industry employment projections used in the Outlook originate from the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget's Utah Process Economic and Demographic Impact Simulation Model (UPED). These industry employment projections serve as the input, in the form of total employment for each of the specific industries, into the Utah Department of Employment Security's occupational employment projections system. The Outlook contains analysis, charts, and summary data tables that show industry and occupation composition and trends. It also presents "occupations in demand" for the next five years, including training levels, current entry and State average wages, and labor supply (output from the training community). This publication actually provides ten sets of projections, one for the State as a whole, and one for each of Utah's nine Service Delivery Areas (SDAs).
