Discriminação racial: um legado da escravidão?

The slavery is one of phenomena that induced the racial discrimination to the black people. During the slavery the black people was someone else`s property and occupied the lowest social position. By the way, even with the end of slavery the racial discrimination to the black people did not disappeared. Through the bibliographic research and observation of the facts on daily basis, was possible to verify this tendency. So, the article has as objective to analyze to what extent the slavery influenced the racial discrimination. In order to fight racial discrimination, several activists and international organizations have made efforts in sense to reverse the panorama, but the challenges are bigger
A escravidão é um dos fenómenos que induziu a discriminação racial aos negros. Durante a escravidão o negro era propriedade de outra pessoa e ocupava a mais baixa posição social. Aliás, mesmo com o fim da escravidão, a discriminação racial aos negros não desapareceu. Através da pesquisa bibliográfica e pela observação dos fatos no dia-a-dia foi possível constatar esta tendência. Assim, o artigo tem como objetivo, analisar em que medida a escravidão influenciou a discriminação racial. Com vista a combater a discriminação racial, vários ativistas e organizações internacionais têm empreendido esforços no sentido de inverter o panorama, porém os desafios são maiores.
