Abstract
- This work analyzed the competitive growth strategies of beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) and spruce (Picea abies [L.]Karst) saplings due to competition, +CO2 and/or +O3. Results showed that different responses to climate change and/or resource availability have to be expected for different species growing in isolation, mono and mixed culture. Thus, interactions between these factors have to be considered when assessing tree performance especially at the juvenile phase.<br />Diese Arbeit untersuchte die kompetitiven Wachstumsstrategien junger Buchen (Fagus sylvatica L.) und Fichten (Picea abies [L.]Karst), durch Konkurrenz und durch +CO2 und +O3. Ergebnisse zeigten, dass unterschiedliche Reaktionen auf den Klimawandel und/oder die Ressourcenverfügbarkeit in Einzelpflanzung, Mono- oder Mischkultur zu erwarten sind. Die Wechselwirkungen zwischen diese Faktoren sollte daher berücksichtigen, insbesondere in der frühen Entwicklungsphase.
