Abstract

Understanding the basic physiological characteristics of sheep and goats are essential for a successful breeding program. This knowledge will insure that the males and females are in the correct stage of their reproductive cycle during the proper season for the appropriate timing of an insemination. This proceedings article will outline the major characteristics affecting the reproduction of small ruminants and how to manage their breeding program.
