The Prize, conceived and directed by the late Giovannella Fusco Girard, Professor of French Literature at the University of Naples "L'Orientale" from 1979 to 2015, was open to French-language writers from France (Section A) and from many French-speaking countries (Section B) as to writers who chose French as their language of literary expression even though they were not French-speaking (Section C). This anthology presents the winning short stories of the three sections of the Prize, as well as a further short stories admitted to the final evaluation phase by the Scientific Committee of the Prize and evaluated by a Jury composed both of students of the French Language and Literature courses of the University of Naples "L'Orientale" and of professors of French Language and Literature of some Universities of Campania. Each short story is accompanied by an Italian translation. The translations were carried out by the students belonging to the Jury and subsequently revised and corrected by the editors of the volume.

Il premio, ideato e diretto dalla compianta Giovannella Fusco Girard, docente di Letteratura Francese presso l’Università degli studi di Napoli “L’Orientale” dal 1979 al 2015, vedeva la partecipazione di scrittori di lingua francese provenienti sia dalla Francia (Sezione A) sia da numerosi paesi francofoni (Sezione B) e scrittori che sceglievano il francese come lingua di espressione letteraria pur non essendo francofoni (Sezione C). Quest’antologia presenta i racconti vincitori delle tre sezioni del Premio, nonché i racconti ammessi alla fase finale di valutazione dal Comitato Scientifico del Premio e valutati da una Giuria composta sia da studenti dei corsi di Lingua e Letteratura Francese dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale” sia da docenti di Lingua e Letteratura Francese di alcune Università campane. Ciascuno dei racconti è accompagnato da una traduzione in lingua italiana. Le traduzioni sono state effettuate dagli studenti appartenenti alla Giuria e successivamente sono state riviste e corrette dai curatori del volume.
