Abstract
- High performance, durable and affordable electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) is of great importance for tenable hydrogen production via water electrolysis. Although spinel oxide-based electrocatalysts (AB2O4, A, B = metal) represent a class of promising candidates for OER, their intrinsically poor electrical conductivity impacts their electrochemical performance. To overcome these bottlenecks, heteroatom-doped carbon structures can be used to improve the conductivity, adjust the electronic structure, durability and also boost the charge transfer, leading to enhanced electrochemical water oxidation [1]. In this work, a selection of nitrogen doped carbon decorated NiFe2O4 composites derived of polydopamine for OER in alkaline medium have been investigated.
