Refugee Integration in Austria : Understanding the Implications of the Integration Policy Environmentfor Individual Motivations and Resources

Based on an analysis of the Austrian legal framework regulating immigrant integration as well as a thematic analysis of interviews with affected individ- uals, this chapter provides a critical reading on how multicultural policies have given way to an assimilationist paradigm through the expansion of civic integration programmes.
