The effects of frother and collector distribution on flotation performance.
-
Abstract
- The development is reported of a technique in which the concentration of reagents remaining in solution during batch flotation tests can be measured. By this method, the distribution of reagents in laboratory-scale flotation tests can be studied.Experiments using an industrial sulphide ore found that 20% of the frother Dowfroth 200 was lost in the presence of SIBX collector and that after 2 min, 63% of the SIBX had adsorbed to particles. It was also shown that increases in initial collector concentration and conditioning time yielded a higher concentrate grade.<br />The development is reported of a technique in which the concentration of reagents remaining in solution during batch flotation tests can be measured.
