Abstract

An entirely new support concept has been implemented to control face ends in thin seams by using rock bolting technology. The drill holes are produced by the newly-developed Flex-Drill unit and the flexible roof bolts consist of bundles of steel wires. The system has proved perfectly reliable under maximum block size extraction.<br />An entirely new support concept has been implemented to control face ends in thin seams by using rock bolting technology.
