Charging curves for the investigation of discharge-ionisation processes in the sulphides of copper-zinc ores.

Abstract

Results from investigations into the electrochemical behaviour of chalcocite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, and pyrite in solutions of sulphuric acid in twice-distilled water (pH5) and calcium hydroxide at pH6-12, are discussed. The averaged E,t curves recorded for the sulphide minerals are given. The curves differ in nature for all the investigated minerals. The obtained relationship between the potentials at the beginning of oxidation of the various sulphides and the pH value can in turn serve as the basis of an explanation for the mutual effect of the sulphides during flotation.<br />Results from investigations into the electrochemical behaviour of chalcocite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, and pyrite in solutions of sulphuric acid in twice-distilled water (pH5) and calcium hydroxide at pH6-12, are discussed.
