Abstract
- This study investigated the longitudinal relationship between perceived sibling dominance and adolescent agreeableness and the moderating role of birth order. 354 adolescents judged their own agreeableness and the dominance perceived from their sibling during the first wave and six years later during the sixth wave. Based on the results, it appeared that there was no significant relationship between perceived dominance and agreeableness, agreeableness and perceived dominance, and that birth order did not play a role in the relationship between perceived dominance and agreeableness. Results are not consistent with previous literature and theoretical frameworks that suggest that personality and relationship quality can influence each other.
