Abstract

This study aimed to provide a pictorial illustration of the CT perfusion appearances as carried out with 320 slice CT with whole brain coverage in a range of intracranial pathologies. All brain CT examinations carried out on a recently installed 320-slice CT were reviewed. Cases where CT perfusion was carried out were extracted, and a subselection used to illustrate the variety of CT perfusion appearances across a range of intracerebral pathologies. Whole brain CT perfusion technique, normal appearances and parametric maps are illustrated and discussed. A range of neurovascular and non-neurovascular pathologies are showed. Whole-brain 320-slice CT perfusion shows significant potential in particularly neurovascular pathologies where it may, with further study, replace current invasive investigations. This exhibit refects our initial experience with this technique.
