Abstract
- This paper proposes a management strategy based on a transactive mechanism to improve the efficiency of energy storage systems. The proposed control scheme relies on a non-cooperative strategy where each system is at the liberty to set its price in order to maximize owner profit while maintaining power system stability. The novelty of this approach comes from the simple yet effective design of the management strategy. In fact, different from existing works, the proposed management scheme is treated in the framework of classical control which does not only result in reliable implementation but also is easy to be incorporated in stability studies. Simulation and experimental results of a utility-scale battery energy storage system are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed management strategy.
This work was supported by the European Commission under the project FLEXITRANSTORE H2020-LCE-2016-2017-SGS-774407 and the project INTERRFACE H2020-LC-SC3-2018-ES-SCC - GA 824330.
Peer Reviewed
Postprint (published version)
