Monitoring van Risicofactoren en Gezondheid in Nederland (MORGEN-project): Doelstellingen en werkwijze

RIVM rapport:The aim of the MORGEN-project is monitoring of risk factors for chronic diseases in the general population (cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory diseases, diabetes mellitus, low back pain, neck and shoulder complaints and migraine). Each year a new random sample of approximately 5000 subjects will be examined between 1993 and 1997. Data collection includes self-administerated questionnaires, medical examination, determination of cholesterol and random glucose levels in blood. Part of the blood is stored at -196 degrees C for future analyses. Data from the MORGEN-project will make an important contribution to policy-oriented public health research.
